If I wanted to create a server on a VPS would it be the same? Or would I have to it differently?

Some steps might be the same, but there's a lot of different stuff you can do with a VPS. I recommend talking to SPEED about this is you want a VPS because he's more knowledgeable with hosting and all that good jazz, here is a link to his topic!

Do exactly as showed. Choose "both" if you don't have both try either one, if the one you chose doesn't work try the other one. That is the only thing I can recommend as mine is on both.
