Dubstep has been around since the 1990's, if you think you're oldschool for starting in 2009 then lol.

More people have started listening, and more artists have popped up. Not a bad thing. You just over exaggerate and say people are saying "dayum i'm cool for listening to dubstep" when they don't. They listen to it like any other person would.

I never said i was cool for listening to it in 09'. I don't even listen to it anymore, it's the crappiest music genre and needs to go bye bye.

Also you obviously don't get out much if you don't see how many dubstep fanboys are out there.
