Good evening,
Here a small tutorial simple and effective allowing you to switch from NAT Strict Nat to Open (also works for Black Ops).
Prerequisites: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The steps:
- Connect to servers Matchmaking MW3 (if Xbox or PS3) and see if you are NAT Strict.
- If you are NAT Strict, remove Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 of your home console and insert Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
- Connect to servers Matchmaking MW2 (if Xbox or PS3). If you are Open NAT on Matchmaking, you're on the right way!
- Play a full game on the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
- After all these steps completed, remove Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on your home console and re-insert Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
- Connect to servers Matchmaking MW3 (if Xbox or PS3). Surprise, you're in Open NAT!
I practice this trick every day, and it's not a trick that requires repetitive handling. Once is enough for a day.

Why would you want to do this?
Also, why not just configure your router/modem to the correct ports, once done you could enable and disable the port rules as you see fit.

Great tut if this works, my NAT Is always strict and takes me ages to find games

zFaazeR wrote the way i fix mine, which usualy works..This Worked For Me To Untill The New Update And Dash. It Tells Me My NAT Type Is Strict And I'd Usually Test Again and a message will pop up telling me how to fix it, then i would hit tht i did it, and it would aouto make me open, even if i didnt acually do wat it said. now it dosnt give tht massage.
