Introduction to Trading
There are 2 main markets for trading; players and consumables. The players market focuses on buying players for a low price and selling them for a higher price to make a tidy profit. The consumables market focuses on contracts, formations and positions with the same principal of buying low and selling high.
Players
When buying players try and focus on getting them with the most popular formations. I found these to be 4-4-2, 4-1-2-1-2 and 4-3-3. The reason for this being that players sell for a higher price at these formations because players are looking to improve their team chemistry.
Consumables
On FUT it is pointless having amazing players if you have no contracts! Without contracts you are unable to use your players. This makes them one of the most popular purchases in the game as no-one wants to leave their players rotting in their reserves when they can be playing with them on the pitch.
Formations we have already covered in terms of players but cards can be just as lucrative as players can find cheaper versions of players and apply a formation to them to match their chosen formation and improve their teams chemistry.
Positions work in the same way as formations as users are looking to improve their team chemistry which improves their players performances on the pitch.
Rules
Rule 1 Be Patient
If a player doesnt sell at a higher amount be patient and dont reduce the price at the first attempt. If after a few days of not selling begin to drop the price but never go below your purchase price.
Always leave a big enough margin when buying a player to break even if the market suddenly crashes.
* For players under 5k buy for 2k or less
* Players under 10k buy for 6k or less
* Players between 10k and 20k buy for 5k less than their average price
* Players above 20k try and leave 10k margin. These players are the biggest risk as their values go down quicker than cheaper players
Rule 2 Timing (Part 1)
When auctioning a player you need to be aware of the most common times that users are on FUT. This is normally between 4pm and 12am. When listing items it may be wise to start an auction at 4pm for 1 hour and if it doesnt sell put it on every hour until about 11pm and then auction it for 12 hours overnight if it still hasnt sold.
Rule 3 Timing (Part 2)
When buying players timing works the other way round. You are more likely to find bargains between the hours of 12am and 6am than you would at peak times on FUT. This works particularly well on auctions as you will have fewer rivals to compete against when battling for cheap cards.
Rule 4 DONT BUY GOLD PACKS OR SPECIAL PACKS
Gold Packs are the biggest waste of coins because the chances of getting a card that you can sell for more than the pack costs are very slim. Before creating this guide, I had lost count of the amount of coins I had lost from buying packs in the hope of getting a big player, now I just use these methods to buy the players outright.
Rule 5 The difference between weekend and weekday prices
It doesnt take a genius to realise that more people are going to play FUT at the weekend than on weekdays so change your prices accordingly. This works very well with consumables as people will need cards more on a weekend as they play on it more so you can normally buy contracts, healing and formation/position cards during the week for a lower market price and then sell them at the weekend for an increased price.
Rule 6 Watch out for the tax!
Dont forget that EA take 5% of the total sale price away from you so be careful buying players with only a small margin as you may not actually make any coins.
Methods
For all of the gold player methods you should search 4-4-2 as it is the most popular formation and players go for more in that formation. 4-1-2-1-2 is also good.
Method 1 59th Minute Rule
Quite a lot of people already know about this rule already but it is an effective way to get some bargains. Quite simply choose a specific team ideally from EPL, Serie A or Liga BBVA as they are most popular leagues and search through the pages until you get to the cards listed at 59 minutes remaining. Dont forget to set a buy it now to your maximum to narrow down your results.
To refresh the additions simply move back and forth through the pages in between 59 minutes 30 seconds and 1 hour.
By doing this you will find players that newbies or casual FUT players have listed for lower than their average price allowing you to purchase them on the cheap and sell them for a higher price.
IMPORTANT make sure you do your research on how much players go for otherwise this method can backfire.
Getting to the 59th minute can be time consuming but there is a way you can get to it quicker using the FUT Web App. To find this out search the Internet. Note - this does come with a risk as it is breaching EA's terms and conditions but people do it. I wouldn't if I were you.
Method 2 The In-Form Method
Every week EA release a team of the week. These known as in-form and are black cards and incredibly rare. If you get one of these cards either in a pack or on the trade market they sell for a lot as once team of the week expires you cannot get them in packs and therefore there are only a select number available.
If you get one of these cards you can sell them at a higher price because eventually someone will want the card and if yours is the only one available then they will have to purchase it from you for the inflated price.
There are two main times that you should buy in-forms:
* The first time is as soon as they are released (Every Wednesday 6pm GMT) as they are new and people will want to get them but be sure not to pay too bigger price as if you can't sell them in 1 or 2 days you may take a massive loss on them as prices will quickly go down as more become available (TIP: When going for a player, think what the maximum you would pay for the player would be and don't go above it. This should ensure that your player sells).
* The second time to buy them is in the last few days that the players are available as there are many of them on the market so the price will be lower.
With this method it is best to keep players in your squad for a few weeks whilst people buy up many of the in-forms on the market. You can then release yours on the market when there are fewer
players available which allows you to list them for a higher price. If done correctly you can treble what you paid for the player, possibly more.
Most in-forms once they are removed from pack will sell for at least 20k. Also if you discard/quick sell an in-form you get 10k so watch out if you find and players going for less than 10k because you can make some quick coins.
Method 3 The Pro Players Method
This is the easiest way of making coins on FUT. On the auction search set formation to 4-4-2 and set to card type to gold and click search. Search through the players and bid for players that you can make a profit on.
This sounds really obvious but if you pay attention and make sure you know how much players really go for you can get ahead of FUT players who are just guess bidding (bidding on players without knowing how much they sell for), this allows you to set your limits ensuring that you will definitely make a profit.
For this method you need to research! Spend a day looking up how much players average prices are. This is done best by adding the players to your watch list and seeing how much they go for when the auction ends. You could also find the lowest buy it now price where three or more users have listed at that price.
Once you know the prices of the players, instead of scouring the entire market just custom search the players that you know the prices of and repeat the process. This is a better way as with the universal search you usually only see listing with less than five minutes left because you will normally find a player to bid on by then.
Method 4 Contracts
Contracts are an easy yet time-consuming market to make coins off as you can get them very cheap and double your money on them. People will always be desperate for contracts and will therefore be willing to pay more in order to get one quickly. This is a time-consuming method due to the low margin you will make on a contract card which I found to be around 500 coins max. That would mean you would have to sell 200 contract cards just to make 100,000 coins.
To do this method search for gold contracts that have a buy it now of 200 coins. This requires an incredibly quick trigger finger as you will be fighting to get them with loads of other people looking to get a cheap contract. You can then list the contacts for 500 coins buy it now making a small profit every time. These contracts may take a week or so to sell so be careful not to fill your trade pile with contracts as you won't have any space to sell anything else. Selling the contracts for 400 coins will ensure they sell quicker but will also mean you make less off every contract you sell.
As there are so many contacts available you have to keep relisting the item every hour in order for them to sell. Listing them for hours or days at a time will not work as you need them to be listed on the first few pages of the search for people to see them.
Method 5 Formations
This works exactly the same as the Pro Players method in that you find out how much the popular cards go for and then try to buy them at a price lower than the average sale price. This again wont make you a massive amount of coins but it will get you started.
4-4-2 Formation cards can make anything from 4000-8000 coins
4-1-2-1-2 cards can make anything from 5000-8000 coins.
All other formations will sell for under 3000 coins but any formation with four at the back will sell for 1000 coins +. (4-3-1-2, 4-3-2-1, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-2-2-2, 4-4-1-1, etc.)
Method 6 - Healing Cards
Healing cards are very much like the contract cards in that you won't make millions or even hundreds of thousands on them but you can make a good return on them. This method requires you to set the level to bronze and type to healing and set the starting price to 250 coins maximum. Go through bidding on cards of 250 coins or under. Make sure you bid for all of them as you will only get around 10% of the cards you bid on.
When bidding on players at auction you can keep as many as you want in your watch list providing you don't click on them when they are in there as you will be asked to either send to club or trade pile. This is not the same on buy it now as once you have bought the card you have to choose a destination immediately.
Once you have all these list them for 500 coins buy it now and 450 start price. List for an hour at a time usually between 4pm GMT and 11pm GMT as these are the main times where people play games on FUT and there will be a greater need for healing cards.
Method 7 Price Fix
This tip requires you to have a fair amount of coins already as the process involves purchasing all versions of one card and then gradually releasing them back into the trade market at a higher price than you paid for them. This forces the user to pay your price as there will be no other cards available.
Doing this with non in-form cards is very risky as the players are still in packs and the market could flood again leaving you with a tonne of the same player that you can't sell. However if you can manage to sell them quickly as well as buying up any cards that undercut yours you have a good chance of making a good profit.
Don't list players that you got for 2k for 20k because they're not going to sell no matter how many of the player you buy unless they are incredibly popular.
TIP This works very well with rare cards as it reduces chances of players getting them in a pack meaning they will have to pay increased price.
Method 8 Card Modification
Some players will be worth more coins if they have a different position or formation as this affects chemistry. If you can buy a player with a popular formation, 442 or 41212 but with a position that doesnt suit the formation, RWB, LWB, CDM, CAM, CF, LF, RF, RW and LW, you may be able to find a position card that combined with the player costs less than what you would pay for the same player with a common formation and position.
For Example You purchase a Walcott with 442 but is a RW for 3000 coins and then buy a RW->RM card for 2000, you can then sell a Walcott RM with 442 formation for around 10000 coins making 5000 coin profit.
Method 9 - Bronze player method
Anyone that plays Fifa knows that pace is the main weapon on a team and this is especially the case when building a bronze team as they lack the technical skills that gold players have. People create bronze teams to participate in the lower star tournaments or restricted tournaments that only allow bronze players to be picked.
Therefore when trying to make profit on bronze players it is best to look for players with good pace as they will sell for more. Any player with pace above 80 from any of the English leagues will sell for at least 1000 coins. As a lot of FUT players only buy gold players the bronze market is a lot less competitive and you can get a lot more bargains.
I find it best to search start price 250 coins maximum and bid for any players in any formation with above 80 pace. Beware when bidding for players whose formation doesn't match their position, for example a RM with a 4-3-1-2 formation is probably not a good player to get as people won't want him because there is no place for him.
If you decide to search for all players beware of unpopular leagues such as Poland and Belgium as although there may be good players with pace but no-one will want to buy them as most people won't have heard of them.
Again make sure you do some research as even some bronze players can go for 10,000 coins
Method 10 - Silver player method
Exactly the same as bronze method except I would search for 1000 coin starting price but like I said with bronze players watch out for unpopular leagues and unmatched formations and positions.
Some silver players can go for up to 200,000 coins especially if they have 5*skill and electric pace. Again Research is needed
Method 11 - Duplicate Account method
This method involves the use of a second account, however dont worry if you are an Xbox 360 user, you still dont have to pay for another account as only a silver membership is needed (which is free)
To do this have account 1 loaded on web app and account 2 loaded on console.
First of all on account 1, you need to get any card you dont want anymore, then put it up for a price that will be easy to find later, as an example I usually put my useless card up for 2500 bid and 2600 buy it now, therefore it is much easier to find in the auctions when needed, saving you time, time is money. On account 2, you need to go to ultimate team on your console and start a new team (this is possible for Xbox 360 users to do with only a silver account (you only need a gold account to play online) after starting a new team you will get a team full of bronze players, first of all you need to go to one of the players and press apply item, send the available item to your trade pile, whether its a contract or a fitness card or whatever, just so you can do a trade offer later.
Now you need to discard every player you received, after you have done this you should have at least 450 coins on account B, now you need to go to search auction, and search for the original card you put up for sale on account A, trade offer this card with the card you put in your trade pile and all the coins you have, then simply switch over to account 1 on the web app, accept the offer and now you have all new your coins, put the new card you just got up for sale again so you can repeat what youve just done. Now on account 2 you can delete your team, meaning you can make a new team, getting a whole new squad of bronze players and therefore being able to repeat this process.
A quick summary of this method:
* Make a new team
* Discard all the players
* Trade offer yourself the coins for unwanted player
Although it sounds like a lengthy process due to my description it only takes a few minutes each go and is completely risk free, you are guaranteed to make around 500 coins every time.
When getting unwanted players if you are going to do this multiple times it is best to buy a cheap bronze pack as the cheapest card you can get on trade would be 200 buy it now or 150 starting price. You can get 12 cards for 400 coins
Method 12 Watch out for the Servers
This is one of the most annoying methods when selling and potentially one of the most lucrative when buying. From time to time EA has to close FUT in order to perform maintenance. If a user lists a player with 150 coins starting price and the listing ends when EA are performing maintenance then theoretically the player will sell for whatever the price is before FUT goes down for maintenance. If you are the highest bidder when it does go down then you will be the winner and potentially get a top player for 150 coins or a significant amount less than the average price.

Most of this I knew already, but there was some new stuff in there I wasn't aware of, thanks :-)

With the second account method, if you're ever low on players to put up you can just send all the bronze players from the starter pack over to your first account.
This gives you roughly 20 cards to put up at once, making it a lot easier and cheaper than buying bronze packs everytime.
Here's a tip for finding your cards quicker too; put every player up at 200 start price. Then on your second account just search the formation, nationality and league and put minimum start price 200, maximum start price 200.
I hope this helps some people.
