pvtpunchu wrote Well, it depends on what you'd use it for. I have a MacBook Pro (this one [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) and it satisfies my everyday needs for school and home stuff. But if you are looking to play games; don't get a macbook. My mac can handle games, but at an average of like 8FPS (if you don't know that is absolutely horrible) some games it can handle averagely, buy hardly any. But nonetheless, if you are going to use it for stuff such as typing essays up, browsing the internet, and playing low-intensity games (like minecraft) then you should go for a mac. The OS is much cleaner than windows (from what you see anyway) and although they can't run certain things, they are a little more secure than a PC. You can always add a windows partition if you want anyway. Also to the person saying this is a $1,000 plastic machine, it's aluminum
Oh look, another blind sheep posting nonsense and has nothing to back it up.
If you're so confident in your studies, post links that Lion is more secure than Windows 7.
It's not like all the major anti-virus creators and manufacturers say that their software is 10(+) years behind.

If you want an immobile laptop with shoddy hardware for the price, go with the iMac. Just don't come to me when your OS falls apart with regular use or you have a hardware failure that will cost you many hundreds of dollars (it would be a fraction of that with a PC). I deal with Macs on a daily basis. I know the ropes, and I know what goes wrong and why. I also know how incredibly incompetent their tech support is and how criminally they gouge you for a fix that doesn't even work. I've worked with the whole line, from Macbooks to dual-socket Pros. Same garbage. I even used to own one. Never again.
My solution to viruses? Don't be stupid. It's just so easy. Learn how to download media the right way, install what you need and uninstall what you don't, run a scan every once in awhile. Malwarebytes is free.
People recommending Macs in this thread clearly haven't the slightest idea what they're talking about. I still don't understand why people like them even post in these threads.
If you have any reason you think Macs are better than PCs, hit me with them.
