I need a headset but am on a budget. I'm looking at the earforce x12s because they are like $60. Does anybody recommend this as a like "beginner" headset?

Yes, I used them for my beginner headset and I loved them. I never had any problems with them and they were loud too

I know plenty of people who will say bad things...
Ignore the bad things, they're a great starting headset. They don't break easily (unless you like drop a hammer on them) the bass boost can be amazing, subwoofer on your head o_o
I still have my X11's and they still work, get the X12's, you won't regret it.
