I hate it when someone with 10 posts or something tries to sell things then people moan about him having low post count!?

Everyones the same! Even people who are Gold and having about 2000 posts scam and people with 2 posts are legit!!!

Stop moaning about post count! Everyone has to start at some point

You are generally more trusted if you are a long time/active member compared to somebody who made an account today for the soul purpose of scamming. So there is good reason for this...

In my opinion, it doesn't matter about post count. As long as they have sufficient evidence that they can host a lobby, then they are legit.

yes, to some extent this is true, but I am still going to buy something from a 2000 post count member over a 10 post count member EVERY time

People want to find a reason why someone would want to scam.

For example.

2000 Posts 2 Year Member Gold.

VS

1 Day Member 15 Posts No Gold.

The person with more things that make them look like a good member has more to lose.

I go by the proof and if they look trustworthy. Usually you can tell who the scammers are.

They might want to have some vouches or something. It makes them look better, and it'd make them trusted. I see where your coming from though.
