But I honestly enjoy CoD and hardly even post youtube videos.
I hate trickshotting and only have a play with a clan so we can have fun together in competitive matches for "fun". If I never make a penny off of playing games, that's fine with me.
Battlefield just irritated me, I played it once and moved 5 feet and died by 3 bullets to my leg...

Many people like myself play it because it's easy and I have fun because after playing Halo, GOW, and CoD. I have developed to be a better than average player. And it's fun to beat others. You get the opportunity to get more satisfaction from CoD since there is so much action and possibilities to get more kills. Also many other friends have it so it's more of a social thing for some of us.

Just to point out, CoD was popular before "spinning like a mental person and shooting randomly" came out. In general though, I agree.

Call of Duty is popular because of YouTube and people making commentaries, montages and other videos, but that is not the only reason why it is popular. The series receives a lot of publicity because it's a great game in my opinion; it has everything from zombies, multiplayer, survival, special operations, campaign missions and downloadable content and extra features. They're continuing to extend Call of Duty and improve it. I know there are a lot of people who hate the games because of the players, but the game itself is superb.

go try play the battlefield series..most on here cant play it ..y? cos they are 9 years old and need instant action...

Call of Duty was a hit even before all of the ballerina squeakers with Easycaps ruined it. People keep buying it because it has a somewhat pleasurable Multiplayer experience, and they think the next one is going to be twice as good, when in reality, it's crap.

That's a main reason why it's a hit seller. I haven't seen a single trickshotter in MW3, so that's not the reason people buy it.

Also CoD has made tons of money and are putting adds out so it will probably get more popular over time while it gets worse too.

In terms of how the games play, you can't compare them. CoD is a fast paced arcade style shooter, while BF is a more realistic war experience. To compare them is just stupid.

Also, the only game you have described is MW2. It's very difficult to trickshot on later games, and CoD 4 was huge before MW2 was out. Call of Duty is popular because it is fun. It's easy to play and have a good time on with friends. That is what makes the game so appealing to people, not "spinning around like a mental person shooting randomly".

If you don't like CoD, don't play it. If you like first person shooters, but not the arcade style, go play Battlefield (which btw, is a fantastic game).

The reason why CoD is the most played game is because it has the funnest, basic ranking system.
What game could be better?
No other game makes you want to keep on playing like it does CoD.
