Budget: 120.00 GBP/$180.00 Dollars

Music preferences: Rock/Soft Rock

Type/form-factor: On-ear

Open or closed: It doesn't really matter. Whatever you feel would work best with my chosen music genre

Listening from: Apple Macbook Pro, iPhone 4, Blackberry Curve

Details: Must be sleek. I am buying these to use on the go, working out, and whilst actually working. I don't want it to look like I have a brick of plastic on my head, lol.

Any advice is highly appreciated, thanks r00t.

Do you know if they're any good?

No clue. Maybe. They've been hyped up by Head-Fi, but Head-Fi hype typically means jack. The craptastic M50 and RX700 were lauded by many for example

I own them both! 098))

I need to unload my M50s on a friend and pick up a pair of these. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Because I always follow through with things like this.

I kinda want the COP, even though the reviews aren't too great. I shouldn't. I'm getting a DT880 as my closed Beyer (after a mod). But they're so tempting. And I want an ESW9...and an ER4, and an XBA-4...

No. Q701 first.

Thoughts on the Bose IE2 - I've just got some for the gym and I'm really quite pleased with them. Stay in my ears no matter what, and quality is well, of a good enough standard. Only downside is the amount of sound they leak (*871*)

Got them to replace my broken CX 680. Sound wasn't as good, and they didn't remain in my ear for any more than 30 minutes on the cross trainer or rowing machine. Was disappointed with them big time.

I've got them running through an S2 and poweramp with "Soft Treble" EQ and increased sound stage via stereo x - and I'm really quite impressed by them. I mean, they're only for the gym, and having paid 65 quid for them brand new out of the box from my local shop I was even happier!

Would you have recommended something different?

Yep. Everything Bose makes is heavily overpriced. You could have done much better for less and the design of the GR06 is pretty much perfect for an "active lifestyle."

They look really nice, and probably miles better than the un known frequency response of the Bose... Do they over give any info on their systems? I know that the old Lifestyle System 28 or whatever (10 years old, 2 5" front firing subs) sucks... Put on Cloudlight by Eskmo and I can't hear all of the sounds, where as on my mates Zeppelin Air I can - I loved it.

Oh man, there's a lot more scandal surrounding Bose products than you can imagine. The Acoustimass speakers are essentially a well-dressed scam, they had some dirty dealings with the government when they were contracted to produce headphones for aircraft, and there's a lot of trickery going on when they put their products on display. It really is a terrible company and I would never buy or recommend ANYTHING from them. Someone has the links, I do not. I'm also not sure I have the facts 100% right, so don't quote me.

Budget: No more than $350

Music preferences: I listen to mostly hip-hop/rap with a bit of techno/dubstep.

Type/form-factor: Over-ear ( if this means my whole ear is covered )

Open or closed: Closed

Listening from: iPhone/iPod, laptop, basically anything I can.

Details: Durability is definitely a factor. I'm very " iffy " on the whole beats situation. I have heard good and bad from friends and relatives but they can still be a recommendation. I have used in-ear headphones for most of my life so over-ear is a change, granted I have listened to music with over and on ear headphones. I am currently considering the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] so any knowledge about either of those kinds of headphones or simply a yes or no will do the trick.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

Keep in mind the V-Moda LP you linked is the first-gen LP, which is a ~$100 headphone. The LP2 and M100 should be on your radar, though, at $190 and $300 respectively. The Momentum seems to be a solid lifestyle headphone if that's what you're after, but it doesn't seem to be suited to your music. You'd like the LP2 or Ultrasone Pro 900 much more. The Pro 900 can be had for around $330 when the price is low, but right now it's high at ~$550. You shouldn't be limiting yourself to just these two, because there are a lot of great options! All of these are worth considering:

V-Moda M100 ($300)
V-Moda LP2 ($190)
Ultrasone Pro 900 ($330)
Logitech UE6000 ($200
Audio Technica Pro 700 MkII ($180)
Sennheiser Momentum ($350)

If you're after something bassy to compliment your music, the LP2, Pro 700 MkII, and Pro 900 are my recommendations. All are very, very durable and will demolish Beats Pros. The rest are not so bassy, but still worth considering if you want something more balanced. These are not all of your options, either.

TL;DR: It sounds like the LP2 fits you best.

Alright thanks a lot man. I will take you advice into consideration and it will probably affect the outcome of my decision. Thanks again

Doing a small community radio thing here. Got around $100 for semi portable headphones, can stretch the budget to $200

Opinions? Looking at the M50, KNS6400 and the K240 for full size, M80, HD25 and the K518/81 for on-ear.

Good vocals and some capabilities for electronic music is something I'd like. M80s are on the top of my list, although if I can get something cheaper that'd be cool too.
