For christmas I am getting a 32" HD TV.
I was wondering if I needed the Xbox HD AV cable to play in full HD/

personally i think HDMI is better quality, but you could use the HD AV cables

You can use either HD AV or HDMI, but I would hands down recommend the HDMI cable. There is only one cable for both picture and sound, as well as slightly better quality. And the cable is like 3 bucks, so were not talking about a major investment or anything..

i might sound weird but i always use vga it gives a really nice picture which i find clearer than a hdmi lead imo

HDMI is way better. transfers sound as well as video

Sure, if you go into a store to buy one... You never buy HDMI cables at a retail store such as best buy or radio shack; thought everyone knew that...
