I celebrate Christmas to spend time with my family. I have never looked at it any other way besides that. In my opinion, that is the main thing that you should hope people celebrate it for. It's the materialistic part that you should hope they don't celebrate it for (the presents.) I know it's a religion based holiday, but as long as people are spending quality time with the family, I feel the religion part can be overlooked. Family is always the #1 priority.

That is something that gets to me as well. I was spoiled as a kid, but I quicky understood that was wrong. It's sad when people just care about the presents and not the people in their life. Presents are the last thing you should be concerned about on that day. The world is a materialistic place. Very sad.

Amen bro, i feel the same way you do... if i could go back a couple years ago and not ask for the stuff i got just so my family could make it by another week i would.
I would appreciate the family you have now because soon enough they will be gone.

First off ..,What has god got to do with christmas ?
And in truth consumerism has been a tradition of the world for many generations now ,So who is to say that it's wrong ?.
Take great care when arguing about religious traditions ,You may not like what you hear.

We have not lost the sight of Christmas. My Christmas tree, my family goes out every year and finds one and cuts it down, first my dad did it, then he gave the saw to my brother to do so. We go to church every Christmas Eve as a family, then have a party at my grandpas house. On Christmas morning I wake up to presents of course and we all sit together giving each other the presents. Then we have a nice meal all together, and sometimes go bowling afterwards. It's tradition, you don't have to sit and not have fun on a day like Christmas, it's a holiday of family, and I really doubt someone thinks otherwise.
