Rezde wrote There really is no point in school, besides the fact that everyone wants to give you a job if you have high grades.
I'm in the 9th grade, I have a 2.9 GPA, and I think I'm doing fine. But, lately I've been thinking, what is the point of school?
At what point are we going to use all of this that we are learning? Do we NEED to know that Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879? Like say you're a waitress when you're grown, are we going to pull out a microscope and look at how many cells are in a cheeseburger?
We are always worried about the future, in every point in our lives. Now we worry about our adulthood. In our adulthood, we are worried about whatever comes next. I mean, why does everyone worry so much? Not to sound like the average kid of this generation, but live for the moment, have fun.
I hope this topic doesn't get flamed, I'm really interested in this topic.
Without school you wouldn't know how to type so you wouldn't be on TTG

Without school, you would not know 1/5 of the things you know already.

I agree strongly with this post. granted you may learn the odds and ends in school but honestly who is going to use most of the stuff?

You become a teacher for example, you're going to use everything you learned in school in later life.
Anything you become when you're older, it all started with school, so of course you're going to use the skills your learnt in school in the future.
And I'm going to use 'most of the stuff' - I'm going into aviation, requiring the use of Maths and Physics. Two valuable subjects I learnt in school. If I didn't go to school, I wouldn't have a chance of success. Don't take it for granted man, trust me.

I personally don't believe that people should have to spend so much time in school
My way of thinking: If a single teacher cant teach all the subjects then how could you expect a single student to learn all subjects.

2.9 GPA isnt fine. Secondly, we would be cavemen still if school was never invented, you do understand this correct? Nobody would be educated. It would a nightmare, we would of had nearly no technological advances.

This thread
THIS IS HOW I THINK OF IT. You should just learn and make the best of it, you go to school more then you see your working parents!
