Ok guys i updated the 3.55 OFW download tell if it works i got it from ps3hax.net so its most likly legit sorry about the other one i got told it was a 3.72 .

if any of the likes dont work i.e got tacken down or its the wrong firmware tell me and ill look for some good working links

I have 1 ps3 on 3.50 so do I just update to 3.55 then install geohotz?

You need 2 ps3 if you want to host mate if i was you keep that one and go out and buy another ps3 ,update the ps3 you already got to 3.55 and update the one you bought to latest firmware then data transfer and host or do what ever you want to do but but remember if you decide not to buy another ps3 and you update the one you already have to 3.55 you carnt connect to psn so online features is blocked .

.Here is an alternative way update the 3.50 ps3 to latest firmware then have someone on ttg data transfer your ps3 but you can only have one patch your carnt change it works out cheaper doing that then to buy the 3.55 ps3 but the 3.55 ps3 is in your hands you can do what you want change patch ,change cfw,what ever you want but letting someone data transfer for you ,you have limited things on what you can do

You can update your 3.50 to 3.55 but do ofw first then cfw like what you said but also remember do it by USB NOT via interent because that will update it to the latest firmware which i believe is 4.31, and remember NEVER install a firmware lower than the firmware what i mean is like say you have a 4.31 ps3 and you think you can downgrade by putting a 3.55 firmware on your usb and installing it your ps3 DONT because your ps3 will get bricked ,

Great post man, i would update your custom firmwares as there are alot better ones than just Kmeaw,Geohot like Rebug,Rogero,etc.

I was wondering, if u formatted ur ps3 and then did an update via storage media to the original 3.55, then used the 3.55 CFW, would u be able to jb ur ps3 from any OFW?

You can only jailbreak your ps3 if the firmware is on 3.55 or below.
