AvP_Coding wrote Basically, OP, you should learn C++. Nobody gives a **** if you can code Java when you're creating applications. C++ is the industry standard, and even if you're going into a Java job - you should know background C++, whereas this is not the case if you're going into a C++ job (nobody expects you to know Java)

I'm not argueing with you on this but, this is coming from a teenager who coincidently has never had a job right? How can you give advice on getting a job when you're only 14, makes no sense to me.

I suppose you are a pro with industry experience. Please enlighten us on the projects you have worked on. lmao another 12 year old kid thinks he knows good practice.

I never stated or implied that I did have "industry experience", I was pointing out a bold and aragont comment similar to that of yours. It seems as if every single one of your comments get downvoted, have you ever stopped to think why this must be? It also gives me the idea that nobody cares what you think nor say, yet you still have the aragonce to say it.

Though I am 17 years old (no reason to hide it), so suprisingly no I don't have a full-time job considering I'm in education but, I can take the assumption that neither do you. Despite and especially considering you're a middle-aged perhaps even going through a mid-life crisis?

In fact aren't you just "Stackoverflow", The kid that got banned but couldn't bear it so had to make yet another account?

Flame wars.. SMH
OT:
No matter who you are and what language you use, unless your an idiot you can agree that every language has a pro and a con.

Simple Example:
Some languages require frameworks, which renders an app useless unless the framework has been installed by the person trying to use the said app.
Ex: .NET frameworks, VB and C# programs requiring .NET 4 wouldn't allow someone who only has .NET 3 to use it.

Python, you can't run a python app without the Python framework. (At least to my knowledge.)

Also, all languages have similarities no matter how vague. Who cares what the "industry" uses? Not like your going to get a job right out of high school because you use industry based languages. Learn what you can of what you want, it'll make college courses easier.

The reality is, I've only seen one person do something out of high school, my friend. He's developing an engine for a company. Everyone else needed college education to get a job similar and they teach you the basic knowledge you need.

Wow can someone just give the kid a truthful and not opinion based answer?

There are many languages used in game development. For unity the best two options would most likely be javascript and c#.(Simple answer, thats quick to the point)

And can everyone stop fighting about which language is better. Every language has their ups and downs. The one that is the best fit can only be determined what you are tying to make and what it will be used on. Half of you probably have no idea what you are talking about anyways. So stop posting unless you actually have first hand knowledge on stuff. It doesn't help anyone when you post stuff you "think" you know.

Oh and btw good luck to the op. Hope it all works out in the end.
