Memory isn't what would cause the disc drive to not be working.

I know that, i just wrote it up in a hurry, what i ment was, Because my xbox i am using now is Half dead i should buy a new xbox, But if i just buy the 20gb xbox and put my 60gb hardrive will everything stay the same? Will u have my Xbl account and such!

Yes, make sure everything is on the 60 gb hard drive, and you keep all current game progress and everything. You will probably just have to redownload the xbox live profile on the new xbox.
