As an avid Xbox Fan (have been playing since 7 years ago) I was very disappointed in the xbox one, and found many flaws with things I would use. Here is a list of some of my complaints, and please explain to me if it is just me, or that there are ways around my complaints.
1. Relying too much on hand and voice recognition.
My older brothers are both in college, and both live in small bathroom sized dorm rooms. They do not have the space to set this type of console up with the kinect sensors. Not only can they not do that, but as you can imagine, dorms get noisy in the halls and it could potentially pick up the background noise.
Scenario: It's late and you and your friend are about to call it quits for the night after a skype call. You are saying bye to eachother over skype (which comes out of your tv) and your friend says "Xbox Off". What is stopping this from turning off your xbox aswell? Voice recognition? What if you've had that person over before, or its a family member and it recognizes their voice aswell?
However, this is the only flaw with this as I can see so far. I assume Xbox One developers are probably not trying to appeal to college students, rather middle and upper class families that have homes with enough space to use the kinect features with friends and family.
2. The Fees.
This is extremely frustrating. The one thing that Play Station had over Xbox was the free to play online feature! So what do Xbox One developers do? Make it even more expensive to play! If you want more info on this look up the costs and such, you could be paying outrageous fees annually just to play on your Xbox One.
Why I'm getting the PS4:
1. Free to play online.
2. Relies more on "Controller interaction"
3. Easier to mod (In my opinion)
I'm really just trying to figure out why everyone is so hyped about the Xbox One, when it wasnt impressive to me at all.
PLEASE share your thoughts and feelings on this. I AM NOT trying to start a console fanboy war, but simply trying to find out why the Xbox One is so hyped up. Thank you!

xbox is more controller wait for e3 when they say about the controller
and xbox live will now be free !
and easier to mod is a bad thing, you dont want to be 10th at everything just boring

i agree. but i am getting both the XbOne and the PS4. i plan on playing more on the PS4 though.

You dont need space for kinect, it just needs to be working and set up.

Can you please provide evidence of it being free? Numerous people have told me it will not only be 'Pay to Play', but it will cost more.

You need space for the kinect. I have it for the 360 at the moment, and cant play 'Just Dance' or 'Avatar Adventures' without running into a couch or chair...

They announced it in the stream, im not gonna go looking at a 3 hour stream to find it for you. But the console is rumored to be around 250-400 uk pounds but the stuff you get out of it is amazing 8GB Ram and 5million transistors + you get to play ultimate team exclusive content :O! only on xbox live:P

He said ram. The Xbox overall comes with 8-gigs of Ram, 8-core AMD Chip and 500GB on hard drive. :facepalm:

So, easier to mod is now a plus for PlayStation? That would seem like something I would want to avoid, which is also another reason why Xbox charges. It keeps their security up. I'm not a fan of this whole "Needs to get online about every 24 hours, the game is coded into your profile, and the Kinect always has to be on", but Xbox is looking really nice in my opinion. Maybe I'm just old school, but I don't need a touchscreen on my controller. It would get more annoying than anything, unless I could use it to quickly change music on my console. I'm like the Xbox because it has almost everything the PlayStation has plus more. It's even going to implement that one feature that I thought would only be PlayStation where you can take control in someone else's game for them. Xbox has some mandatory things that kind of bugs me, but doesn't kill my view on the console.
