it was a joke... not a very good joke, but a joke... it shouldnt be taken lightly, yet 8 years in jail is a little too exessive.. in my opinion he should go to a force therepy session about how serious his comment was.

Its just bant, in no way feasible should he get 8 years in prison for it, i may or may not always joke about this sort of things to my friends, its all hypothetical and not talking in serious terms.

Saw this from Pwnstar4hire, this is just BS, if you're going to call him ill in the mind, what do you expect him to say? He was just trying to make a joke and play along with that person. The stupid f***ing police didn't question him until a month after they arrested him, and to follow, they didn't search his house until a week after they questioned him, and they only got his damn laptop, no guns, ammo, bombs etc..
America, turning into a crap country, I wouldn't be surprised if a woman was elected president in the next 10 years.

My idea for punishment: community service in Sandy Hook. He definitely deserved punishment though, I mean what if before 9/11 someone said "I'm gonna blow up the twin towers." You wouldn't just let that go, similar to this situation it's a terrorist threat. You can actually look at a similar situation to this, there was a case of someone who yelled fire in a crowded theater, many people rushed out and some were injured, there was no fire. The man was prosecuted for causing those injuries and the chaos.

their are things that would make sense why someone would go to jail for this.
