I couldn't have said it better myself.

Seeing as I have a great friend who is homosexual (Gay means Happy why is the word used?) He was a great friend to me in my time of need and his. It was during in-patient at a psych ward. We were both in for severe depression and suicidal thoughts, actions, and self-harm. I was ignorant when I met him. But he was just like me and I couldn't look the other way and that was 2months ago. And now I have the upmost respect for homosexuals, bisexuals whatever you are I respect. I may not be a homosexual. But that doesn't mean I can't be smart and show my respect for those who deserve it more than me.

End Positive Rant.

Im neutral I don't like it but I don't care either. But you need to accept that people have opinions and you can't change that

Im glad you made this topic, the way I look at it is that if someone is happy you shouldn't be judged based on your beliefs, sexuality,or morals. Pursuit of happiness is for everyone not specific groups...

It shouldn't even be called 'homophobia'. A 'phobia' is having a persistent fear of something. How can someone be a scared of gay people? (unless of course they're axe-wielding bloodthirsty clowns).

People who are prejudice towards gay people should just be called 'A*sholes'.

"In a study, Biometric modelling revealed that in men, genetic effects explained 34:39 of the variance in sexual orientation.
In women, 64:66.
The numbers speak for themselves. "

just out of curiosity, what does this mean?

Biometrics is the study of physiology, genetics.
It basically means that a large degree of variation between a heterosexual male and a homosexual male can be put down to genetics.

I realize that rants on this subject usually devolve into flame wars and end up being closed but I want to post it any way.
I've put together some of the strongest arguments for gay rights and why being homosexual isn't a bad/unnatural/wrong/immoral/disgusting thing.

Obviously I can't change the opinions of those of you who just find it weird seeing two guys or two girls kissing in public, that's something that you can only change or deal with.

The view from Religion:

Religion has always stated that homosexuality is an abomination because, to paraphrase, God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

Well, that's true.
However, in Mosaic law where God stated, "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination."
This was written in a time when Homosexual relationships occurred solely between masters and slaves. God saw this in the same light as non-consensual intercourse, so yes, he would have seen it as an abomination.
However, today it is consensual most of the time and includes the benefit of love and compassion.

Jesus was entirely mute on the subject of Homosexuality, but he changed a lot of Mosaic laws such as, "An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth." to more loving and peaceful laws like, "If a man strikes your right cheek, turn to him your left.", meaning that Jesus could have easily thought that Homosexuality was OK with societal changes.

This verse speaks for itself:
"I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; dear and delightful you were to me; your love for me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women."

The view from nature:

A lot of people like to argue that Homosexuality is a choice.
Psychology, neurobiology and sociology has determined that it is a result of genetics, hormones, upbringing and environment.

In a study, Biometric modelling revealed that in men, genetic effects explained 34:39 of the variance in sexual orientation.
In women, 64:66.
The numbers speak for themselves.

Homosexuality occurs in over 1,500 animal species as well, meaning that it is a natural occurrence in the search for love and companionship.

The view from society:

I've never understood the argument from the viewpoint that says two men or two women cannot be good parents and their child will be bullied.

Firstly, a child wouldn't be bullied for having homosexual parents if homosexual acceptance was increased.
Secondly, two heterosexuals who have known each other for 5 minutes and have been drunk the entire time can get married in front of God, but two homosexuals who have loved each other for 10 years will be turned away.

There is no evidence to show that homosexuals would be bad parents and with the number of children currently waiting in foster homes society needs to wise up and allow willing parents to do the job that a heterosexual couple didn't want to or financially couldn't do.

I hope this has changed some views on the subject, probably very naively, but I've seen a lot of homophobic and insensitive comments today so I needed to vent.
I apologize if this infringes any rules [from what I can see it doesn't.]

What is funny is I just looked on your profile and the picture you have as your website and just read basically all of what you just said in a nutshell.
