Avoid buying packs as much as possible. They're a waste of money. If you have spare MSP's that you're not going to spend then that's fine. Just don't go out of your way with your coins. Also, pace is the predominate stat you need (not all players need pace, but it helps). Make sure you have quick defenders, I recommend Dede, Ogbonna, Santana, Boateng, Koscielny, Sakho, Kaboul or Mangala as your best cheap options. Also, you want quick attackers.

Finally, the best formation is probably 3-5-2 (it's also the sweatiest), but it's quite expensive. I use a 5-2-2-1, 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-3 because they're all good formations too.
