Sorry, not being rude, but I feel your ideas on what a logo should be are wrong.

A flare behind a font doesn't really cut it as a logo. I mean it doesn't even fall into the category of being a Wordmark logo.

I agree with inkz , It seems alot of people do not fully understand what a logo is meant to be , If you had not said this was meant to be a logo and you had asked me what i thought it was , I would say this is a icon or avatar .

A logo is meant to be used on backrounds , Wallpapers and avatars for someone who is using the logo for youtube , While in the real world they use logos for websites , Buisness cards , Advertisements etc.So because of this a you need some a icon/image or text that represents the person/Item it is meant to be representing but also because of what i just said it needs to be transparent , A simple logo design with a transparent background that can be used on business cards etc.

If you want to improve in logo design , I would look at popular/famous logos , Coke & Apple are two good examples which i have looked at in the past , One is based on text while the other is based on a image which both represent the company/product it is promoting.
