When I put my disc in it reads for a while then says open tray or unrecognised disc.

Please Help!

Its your laser, I would try to find someone or find out how to repair it yourself

I had this for about 5 months until I could finally be bothered to fix it. Try a few other discs and see if the same thing happens. If it does then you are going to need to open your Xbox up, but don't worry it's very easy and you're unlikely to do any damage to it.

You will want to get inside and find your way to the laser and give it a good clean out in there, I recently did this and it has been working fine ever since. Check some videos out on Youtube, just type in "Open Tray Error".

Try opening your DVD Drive case up, look at the laser. There is two little pods you can adjust. Or your disc spinning motor could be a little wore. Give your disc a little helping push when it starts spinning. Also, could try taking Rubbing Alcohol on a quetip then cleaning the laser. All I can say for you.
