GraphiczHD wrote Well it's clear that most people here judge players based on how good they are on FIFA..

Who, and please could you explain how so?

Quite a few people saying Falcao deserves a downgrade.

41 Goals in 48 appearances for Porto

52 goals in 67 appearances for Atletico

And has 8 goals in 11 games for Monaco so far..

He fully deserves his rating.

Of course, his goal record is to be admired. But would he be able to replicate that in the Premier League? I very much doubt he would.

Why not? Because the prem is harder? If so, the same could be said about the likes of Ibra and Messi..

So any striker who hasn't proved themselves in the prem deserves a lower rating?

When did I ever say that? You're twisting what I'm saying.

I can understand the argument both for and against Falcao being downgraded. For - He has an incredible goal record for the teams he's played for. Against - He hasn't played in a league where every team can beat you. He played for Porto who were at the time, pretty dominant. He also played for Athletico where besides Barca and Madrid, no one could really challenge them. Now he plays for Monaco whose only real competitor is PSG. Would he be able to score week-in-week-out in the Premier League against oppositions that on their day, can beat anyone? I dunno.

Same could be said about Messi. Would he really score 50 goals a season if he didn't have Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Pedro and Busquets? No. Would he be able to withstand the physicality of teams like Stoke? Doubt it.

As I said, there's arguments for both for and against.

This is one of the stupidest arguments I've come across because I see Ronaldo fanboys use it against Messi all the time -_-

It doesn't matter which league they do it in, be it Ligue 1, Bundesliga or Liga BBVA. These players don't have to play in the BPL to be world class.
I can see from your comment that you think the BPL is harder than the French league, which if it is it isn't by far. And it's not like Falcao's playing against freakin mannequins.
Falcao's one of the best, stop trying to take it away from him

Look at Bale. He's come from (in your opinion) a harder league and is now in an easier one but he isn't playing nowhere near as good.

Bale was overrated. It's simple.
You really think Messi would score 50 goals a season if he didn't have the players he does behind him? No. It's ridiculous.

Also, the Ligue 1 is no where near as tough as the Premier League.

Why wouldn't he? It's Messi who carries Barcelona most of the time..

Bale was overrated I agree, but that doesn't change the fact he's playing worse than he was.

And I do think Messi could get that much goals if he had a worse team behind him.
Messi makes his own goals a lot. Obviously he does get help from his team mates alot too.
But it's a team game.

IMO this is how I see it

BPL - Toughest league, but less skill needed.

Other leagues - Less tough but more skillful, different play types

I'm not saying you don't need skill in the BPL but it's less skill focused.
That's why I love Spanish football, loads of amazing skillful players

Oh and btw lots of good players in the BPL came from BBVA - Aguero, Ozil, Santi Cazorla Negredo, Soldado, Navas and more
