Fraps is not bad and its very user friendly, the only disadvantage is how big of files fraps creates and it uses more resources than bandicam.

Whats your computer specs? If they aren't very good then any other recording software probably won't reduce the lag your currently getting.

I would say Open Broadcaster software,OBS

It is used more for livestreaming but I like it for recording too because you can add multiple sources to the video. Also you'll need to mess around with the video setting a little but it's not hard, and for the video setting under broadcast settings make the mode: file output only, and then file path is where you want to save it, thats how you save the file on your computer.

Use Dxtory, it uses the hard disk instead of the CPU. Its drops 2 frames at the most for me, and what SolidMinecraft said. OBS is a great piece of software and its free!

There is a lot of speculation about this, but there isn't a best one. It's down to system specs on what one to use.

But here is a list of ones i used.

MSI Afterburner
FRAPS
DxTory
CamTasia Studio 8

They're the better ones for recording games...
