Well I managed to do this in an evening after finally getting the cables I needed to fix the HDD caddy into the lid, meaning the cables for Sata and Power need extending.
Here are some pictures before I make a video

That is an awesome idea! Did you upgrade your hard drive? I am looking to buy a 2 terabyte drive because my friend and I want to game share. If you did how easy was it to do? Thanks

its just the standard 500GB HDD for now as I don't have Linux to do the partitions for larger drive yet but lets face it, it can pop straight in a case and go right in there. The whole thing took 4hrs and here are the parts needed
Sata Male to Female Extender
Cable to extend power supply
Shrink Tube
Chrome Trim
Xbox 360 stripped down caddy
Xbox 360 HDD case.
The rest is all solder, glue gun, file, cutting tool / dremel and usual mod tools.

Its the plastic guide that holds the 360 slim HDD in place and the HDD case clips into. I would have thought it was called Xbox 360 Slim HDD caddy housing. I typed that on eBay UK and loads came up like this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] it just wants stripping off the holder
