Hey guys,

I'm not exactly an expert on jailbreaking but i know i'm able to mod and use rtm tools etc with a jailbroken ps3, i have the new slim 550gb and if anyone could link me to a good
tutorial thread that would be awesome.

Its not possible with that model.
Look in the market place for someone selling one.

Look at PS3 Marketplace by Vimto-.

You won't regret it.
All phat ps3's can be jailbroken, not all slims can all 2000 models can up to 2501 a and b you have to check the manufacture date on the console all 3k and 4k models CANNOT be jailbroken as they were never on 3.55 or below

couldn't i downgrade the software from 4.55 to whatever?

As everyone else is saying, you can only downgrade fat and some slims. No SUPER SLIMS!
