Today i went out and bought myself a graphics card just so i could play some games on my PC, When i come home i powered down my computer and took the cables out then as instructed by the manual i placed the Graphics card into the PCIe Slot (Done this several times before now) when i started the machine up it loaded the BIOS and then would just go blank.. So i tried plugging the VGA back into the Integrated Graphics chip i have on my Motherboard and that wont even show the bios! What am i doing wrong can someone help?

Try using the mobo vga slot, and install the video card drivers first then try it.

Does it video card power on etc?

I would reset the bios or reinstall the graphics card drivers

Also are you sure your psu has enough wattage capacity for the card?

Clear the CMOS (see motherboard manual) and make sure you have any display drivers uninstalled before you try to boot with the new card. You can use DDU to get rid of them.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

After running DDU, you can install the new card. Without a driver installed. it will run in frame buffer mode. You can then install the latest driver.
