There's many version of windows, just like to know which will be best for gaming?

Many people are telling me to stay away from windows 8 right now, and should get Windows 7 pro?

Does windows 7 ultimate use more resources than the other versions?

What OS are you using?

Any answers are welcome.. No silly ones.
Thanks.

I like Windows 7, but I got a PC that had Windows 8
already on it and I had no problems at all! So far
all my games, and the whole thing runs great! I would
recommend Windows 8!

I bought a laptop with windows 8.1 and I like it. The only game I had problems with is GTA IV and I managed to fix it after 5 seconds.

Can it run old games? I heard windows 8 has a few problems with drivers and old games...

I've had trouble with Windows 8 running Horizon and using other programs because Windows 8 sucks.

I don't have many old games so I don't know if it can run a lot of old games. I think my oldest game is the first counterstrike and it plays that with no errors other than that most my games are really current so I can't give you well informed advice.
