Have you tried closing it manually or turning your xbox off. In my case if i leave the tray open then turn the console off the disk tray will close when the console shuts off.

This happens to me sometimes. Try spamming 'A' on your controller to open and close it, works for me.

I posted a vid because you guys aren't getting what I mean [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] it closes by it self because it thinks something is blocking it or it can't open or some other reason like that I want to know if it is fixable because I want to try all available options before wasting money on a new disk drive.

Does it really bother you that it says that? If so restart your xbox & Unplug all the wires after that. Its the manual open disc tray button a couple of times and you should be oK. if the problem persists run Intel setup in the system settings.

no it bothers me that it closes automatically as soon as I'm about to put a disc in.

This happened to me twice before, but instead the disc tray kept opening and I could never close it. What I did to fix it was I took apart the disc holder on the drive. Now if you look closely on either side of the drive there are these thin metal bands, which when touched together, open or close the drive. I believe the two metal bands on the right are for opening the drive and the two on the left are for closing the drive. Now the reason it keeps closing is because the metal bands are too close to each other causing them to touch and close the disc drive. So what you have to do is bend them slightly so they are far enough apart where they don't touch randomly. Then once your done put your xbox back toget her and your done I will try to find a video on it later if you are confused.
