My buddies cryptarch rank is 17 and he only finds rates and legendary. They aren't fake it's all in your cryptarch rank. I've found 6 legendary in the past day. Just takes time.

I do believe the loot system is beyond screwed up but it is physically impossible to get Uncommon items from a Legendary Engram. I've had my fair share of bad luck with Engrams but thats half the fun of getting them. Instead of farming at a cave with level 5 trash mobs, try to actually do some level 28 strikes or the Nightfall each week and you will start seeing more loot.

It doesn't mean by your cryptarch rank i am level 12 and my friend 14 and we dont get anything good out of them all my stuff i have earned from crucible rank and stuff but did get 2 exotic guns last week 3 days and i have yet to get a legendary drop.

I've had LOADS of legendaries and so far, off the top of my head, I've had -

An exotic auto rifle
An exotic scout rifle
Like 16 gloves
About 8 boots
Roughly 10 chest/heads
And a few legendary secondaries, no specials though :c

So it's there, it's just RNG.

I have had 5 legendary engrams today got a cloak a heavy machine gun and an exotic hand cannon, they can be a bit unfair but if everyone was to get a legendary out of an ingram everyone would have full legendary armour etc
