Im going to buy a Alienware 14 and here are the specs of it
4th Generation Intel Core i5-4210M processor (Dual Core, 3MB Cache, up to 3.2GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
Windows 8.1
8GB Memory
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB GDDR5
I have a question though should i spend the extra $150 on the better display which is -
14" WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare Display
Or should i spend it on the better video card -
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB GDDR5
(By the way im a pretty big gamer and i just want a computer that can run all the games i play like WoW, Skyrim, M&B Warband, Minecraft and some other games like those.)

What is the price for this computer? You can get a much better one for cheaper. Look into MSI, Lenovo, or ASUS.

The problem with that computer is the OS. Windows 8 is a big no.

You definitely do need help if you're buying Alienware.

Don't game on a laptop, you're going to have a bad time. Desktop will be much better for gaming. If you just need a laptop, then with that budget, a MacBook would be a good choice.. although I'm not sure of the prices of them in the US. For gaming, build a desktop PC. If you need a laptop for gaming, wait and get something with a 970m or 980m. The only reason you'd need to game on a laptop is if you do a lot of travelling and can't transport your PC. If you want a gaming laptop for using at school, don't bother. Build a desktop and game when you get home and learn whilst you're at school..

Not really. Windows 8 has an advantage of faster boot times (Even without an SSD it is a considerable advantage over 7). Windows 8 w/ Classic shell and all of the other new features now outweighs keeping 7.

The metro UI is dumb and nothing will change that, you can simply remove it if you really feel the need to, and reap the other benefits of windows 8 (faster, better multi monitor support, etc.). If you're on Windows 7 atm, there's no need to upgrade right now (It's still a perfectly fine OS with support for another 6 years), but if you're building or buying a new PC, go with 8.

tl;dr If you're buying (Or preferably building) a PC, there is no reason to not get Windows 8 right now.

If you are going to buy a gaming laptop i suggest cyberpower or msi you will get a way better graphics card and bigger monitor for 1k. I personally got a cyberpower fangbook hx6 for the same price as that alien ware and I have a nvidia 860m and a 15.6inch screen.

Can you give me a full list OS support that doesnt include pointless updates or indian phone support lines?
