I watched my first ever anime yesterday and today, SAO. I had already seen it but decided I'd watch it all in two days. It's on Netflix I tried dubbed just ruins the experience makes the show feel as if it's for 4 year olds. Sub does not ruin the experience at all especially if the sub is good. Just wish I knew japanese lol, it would make it so much easier and better.

When I started out watching anime I always watched with subs, later on when I was hooked on anime I tried to watch with dubs but it was painful, my ears literally hurt. So I'm not watching anime with dubs again, not unless somebody recommends me to watch with dubs, or if I read that the dubs are better than watching with subs.

Cabal wrote I used to watch everything dubbed because I felt like reading subs would ruin the experience. Boy was I wrong. Don't get me wrong dubs can be fantastic. Just look at Death Note's dub or Fullmetal Alchemists. Both are great dubs. But now I'm starting to watch more in subs because I've become a much better reader and I guess subs are "more official."

tl;dr: sometimes I watch dub, but am starting to watch more sub. I like both.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Monarchy wrote I used to prefer watching anime that was dubbed. After comparing the voice acting, I realized the English versions were worse; emotion and such didn't seem to come through as much.

Subbed is much better, imo.
Yeah a good prime example would be "Hellsing Ultimate" oh god i can't stand the Dub but i really liked the Sub
