I am going to be a sports management major in college so I don't need a certain laptop. All I am going to use the laptop for extras is things like, mixcraft (use to remix music), and watching movies on.

I am not very good at figuring out the best differences between two laptops and determining the better one so that is what I need help with.

Price is not an issue I just want the best one. Which do you think is best?

The XPS 13 is going to be your best option for a laptop that is good for the price. I've used the XPS with the 3200 x 1800 display before and it is beautiful. Needless to say the XPS 13 should be good for what you are doing. (Gaming will no work on this laptop as it has integrated graphics which are terrible.)

I would go with the XPS 13 laptop. There are alot of factors that are advantageous on this laptop than the other laptop. If you want to know why its better in depth, send me a PM i'm always happy to help.

In terms of technical specs, the XPS 13 is the winner here (not by much) -- but there's also a significant price difference. I'm not entirely sure how taxing a program like Mixcraft would be on your CPU, but from what I can see it should run fine on the Inspiron 5000 series (while also boasting more RAM over the XPS). It definitely seems that the Inspiron would be the better deal, you're saving roughly $200, while still making a sound purchase.

I would get the Inspiron over the XPS, it makes more sense to me.
