The time has finally come and I've decided I'm moving from console to PC.

I've been saving for some time and have asked in the past.

Finally the time has come Mega excited lol.

It must require within the budget- A decent monitor preferably 24 inches

My budget is 1100 GBP

I'm mainly going to playing all of the latest games i.e. witcher 3, fallout 4, arma 3, Ark survival evolved etc...

Not sure about rendering videos which I may do in the future.

Thanks.

Ok that looks good but is £250 really needed on the monitor? Like is there anything else I could get and spend a little on something else?

Thanks

With the 970, 1080P is kind of underkill for it, it will easily play 1440P so why not utilize it?
however, if you want you can get a nice AOC 23" IPS 1080P panel, use DSR and get essentially 1440P and more for less, which allows for a 250GB or even 400/512GB SSD, which I would highly recommend.

Its a 1440p monitor which is why it costs more. You could get a cheaper 1080p one but with your budget you should go 1440p, Its worth it

If you did get a cheaper monitor and put the £100 into other components you would not see much of a performance gain anyways.

Ok fair enough, I see your point. Right now I love the 1440p on my iMac so I suppose your right.

And the processor will be good too? Or should I pay the extra for the i5 4760k?

Thanks guys

Also, is 8ms enough for CS Go?

Especially with most gaming monitors being 1 or 2ms?

The xeon is a quad core with hyperthreading, It will perform much better than the 4670k when you start editing videos, Its basically a i7 without the overclocking capability.

If you did go for 4670k you would want to buy a aftermarket cooler and overclock it.

For raw gaming performance this would be a nice build [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

But it doesnt have a ssd and for editing the guys builds above would perform a bit better.

tbh anything under 10 you cant really tell the difference.

If the ms bothers you could go with this, its 4ms [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

This one has 1ms but its tn panel so the colours will not be as good/accurate, which is something you should consider if you plan to start editing.
