im pretty sure if your banned from live it will tell you. you may just be having connective issues. just give it a bit and itll probably sort itself out maybe try rebooting your xbox.

its sounds like you have been communication banned it is usually temporary check your email.

On the xbox one, It would say "Due to your behavior, you cant participate in parties" If you are in a party and cant hear voices, It may be your nat type, If its strict or moderate, Thats the problem.Hard restart your system then if that doesnt work,reboot your hub or router and it should be fixed, If that doesn't work you may need to clear your system catch or factory reset your system!
