So recently i Posted on TTG to get some insight on what parts i should buy, and questions about my upgrade route. I was suggested to go Intel instead of amd so i did. i ended up getting The Intel i3-6100, and a msi h110m gaming mother board, with a single stick of 8gb ram, When i installed it into my case, It would not power up , so i tried taking everything out, Trying to start it with the bare minimals like cpu and hardrive and ram etc, And it would not Power on still so i thought maybe my powersupply finally gave out, but to make sure i tested my old build. and it worked fine, then i tried re installing the new parts and it wouldnt power on STILL. i am currently typing all of this on my old computer build, and its functioning fine. Any idea why it wont power on? i dont think its a problem with how im plugging it in because I've got my old build working over and over and over again,

No, there is no standoffs causing shortage,
No there is no metal pieces from the back plate in the usb slots causing shortage,
Yes, i did remember to plug in all the cords necessary,

POWER SUPPLY - 500W ThermlTake

The only thing I can think of is that you have some sort of incompatibility. Can you link your specific motherboard?

Check the CPU and motherboard socket for any bent pins. RAM may not work, not having another stick to test is kind of a hassle unfortunately, but that may not even be the issue. Your PSU definitely shouldn't be the issue and as it works with your old components, it's clearly not broken.

What exactly happens when you try to turn the system on?

Maybe PC part picker can help to tell you if you have any incompatibility
