Synopsis
WWE 2K16 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and Visual Concepts, and is published by 2K Sports for the PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox 360, and Xbox One.It is the seventeenth game in the WWE games series (third under the "WWE 2K" banner), and is the follow up to WWE 2K15.
Gameplay
This year WWE 2K16 adds more moves and implements new techniques with the pin system having a overhaul along with the submission system being improved and making it more advanced then spamming the A / X button, Chain wrestling was added to the game this year which gave a more realistic feel to the game. They also decided to add a set amount of reversals, this changes the game a whole lot. Now you and your opponent cant just spam the reversals until one of you mess up and miss the chance, instead you have a limit depending on your overall and attributes which makes you use them more wisely. They also brought back missing match types from WWE 2K15 and the creation suite has been brought back to life, 2K also decided to bring us the biggest roster without DLC for now with about 120 wrestlers and yes that is 120 and yes we do have 5 Stone Cold Steve Austins...
Graphics
This is where the WWE games actually did it right for once but not much. They have improved the lighting of the belts and skin tones with again bringing the game even more to life and realistic but there are some wrestlers who just look terrible like Dean Ambrose looking like someone drew some lines down his face. Instead of him having real hair on his forehead. With the lighting being improved on the clothes as well there close up details improved with facial hair and small details in the faces of the wrestlers
Story
First we have the new and improved MyCarrer mode. This time you wont be forced to jump through hoops and play random matches every week, You get to pick who you attack and run in on and pick what belt you want to compete for with also making a tag team. It brings a large amount of hours of gameplay to the game and that feeling of actually becoming a WWE wrestler. Also there is the main story mode 2K added reliving the history of the company and this year they focused on the man on the cover Stone Cold Steve Austin. From his WWF, WCW, ECW and WWE days reliving his classic promos of Austin 3:16 and his ruthless attitude era. With a large amount of unlocks to open during the story giving players the reason to play the story (Or you could buy the accelerator and skip working for the unlocks) If you are a fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin you will enjoy this.
Controls
The game follows WWE2K15 and 2K14's controls with the trigger to run and the other to reverse along with A / X to grapple. X / Square to hit and Y / Triangle to hit a signature, finisher or a devastating OMG moment and B / Circle to Irish Whip or Pin and using the sticks to Move. With the manual being in the game and a tutorial being giving during the players first match and also a in-depth tutorial online with the games box giving the link for the user to goto for the full complete manual.

Gameplay:9 they nailed the simulation style with 2K16.
Graphics:7, they had amazing graphics for the top superstars (about 7 of them) and then they went downhill for the rest of the roster which isn't good enough because from the NBA series they make they nail all the models so shouldn't be any excuses for WWE. Like Undertaker's current model was good he had the wrinkles and looked overall amazing but then the retro Undertaker had the same face with the wrinkles and it made no sense and look horrible and lazy.
Controls: 7, graphics are easy to understand even for you non wrestling fans that want to try the game.
Story:5 for MyCareer, it was better than 2K15's MyCareer but again it sucked after about a day of playing because it got so repetitive with the same interview with Renee Young and the same cinematic of being attached on the stage during your entrance. The Showcase mode on the other hand: 8, it goes through Steve Austins career from his very early days in ECW to his Stunning Steve Austin days and the to the birth of Stone Cold. Very enjoyable as a massive wrestling and Steve Austin fan that I am.
Overall 8: I will say with 2K16, they did well. I hope with 2K17 they can knock it out of the park. Improving the MyCareer even more and the graphics but most importantly not missing out big names like they did with the 4 horsewomen in 2K16. Would I recommend getting it at this stage of the game ? If you really want it and can get it cheap then I'd say yes but if not don't sweat because they announced WWE 2K17 for the release date October 11th which is fantastic because we usually get it back end of October/start of November.
