I just built a PC and had it ordered. I am going to be needing virus blockers and security software. What do you guys recommend? PC will be used mainly for gaming and school work if that helps.

Thanks!

Bitdefender, comes at a price but well worth the pennies. Have a look on G2A etc for a cheaper price.

If not ESET- paid subscription

i use malware bytes and bitdefender free together, recently changed bitdefender to bullguard and it is decent aswell as it provides on the spot scans and full system scans but only has like a two month free trial

I wouldn't even bother, drastically reduces the performance of the PC - You only need one if your downloading some dodgy stuff; I'm sure you're more than capable of knowing what's trustworthy nowadays

If you know how to be smart on the web, use ad blocking in chrome, and use common sense, antivirus is a waste of resources.

Agreed, anti-virus such as 360 Total Security does not compromise startup time.

Don't listen to CandianSquad, getting an Anti-Virus is a must.

I get this feeling CadianSquad runs McAfee..

Doesn't mess with startup, but when a scan runs oh boy..
