Hi everyone,

I'm from Poland (Europe) and I could really use your advice.
I want to return to desktop gaming but my hardware knowledge is a little bit off, and need some catching up.
I found some parts from my old desktop and was wondering if I could reuse some of them.

My current desktop is:

    - PSU: Akyga 420W (~192W from 12V)
    - Motherboard: MSI H61M-P21 (B3)
    - CPU: i7-2600 3.4GHz
    - GPU: GeForce GT 520
    - RAM: 2 x 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1333MHz (CMV16GX3M2A1333C9)
    - Disk: SSD 256GB

My goal:

    - run Warhammer Total War (1 & 2 when it comes out) on Ultra quality.
    - dont spend too much money ;)

My upgrade idea:

    - GPU: GeForce GTX 1070
    - PSU: good but not to pricey PSU - I assume my current PSU wont handle new GPU (based on what I read on the topic). I'm not sure how much 12v output will I need.

Please advise:

    - is my upgrade idea (the GTX 1070) too much?
    - if its ok than what PSU would you suggest?
    - are other parts OK for now (CPU, motherboard)?

If you're playing at 1080p, an RX 480/580 would be plenty. You're definitely going to want a new PSU for sure. Wattage is nowhere near as important as quality. A good 430/450W PSU is plenty for any modern GPU.

CPU is getting old, but it's still perfectly fine.
