As has already been said, yes those are compatible. Again though, you should not buy the 7700k and GTX 1060. Yes, the i5-8400 is better than the 7700k. Yes, the 8700k is more expensive than the 7700k, but it is also much better. The i5-8400 will run at 4GHz and has 6 cores,

What is a better options than GTX 1060? would a GTX 1060 not be better for editing 4k videos? Is there a better one or one that cost less but does same job in the same speed.

Editing does not rely much on GPU power; You're going to be taking a lot from the CPU; Hence where IPC and core count come into play. The 1050 ti and really the build he listed will suit you just fine for your needs.

Intel Core i5 8400 2,8GHz Socket 1151-2 Tray
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X 3,6GHz Socket AM4 Box without Cooler
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3,2GHz Socket AM4 Box

8400 will outperform both of them, though ryzen would be better if you prefer multitasking the workloads. If you would like to save some money, Ryzen would help there, but you would have that performance decline, not drastic but it would be there.

Okay I take your advice on buying the CPU Intel i5.

For the GPU the GTX 1050 ti... again after doing some research I found lots of GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB.... with different shapes, fans and names. Some are mini with 1 fan, some with 2 fans... I give you some example's.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC 3xHDMI DP 4GB
MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Dual Fans OC HDMI DP 4GB
Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Strix Gaming HDMI DP 4GB
Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Phoenix HDMI DP 4GB
Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Expedition OC HDMI DP 4GB

Keep in mind the prices are almost the same... I want the best GTX 1050 Ti version. advice?

There is maybe a 1-4fps difference in gaming, if we take that into consideration with editing, that only accounts for a few seconds across all cards. Just go with whichever is the cheapest.

Look at the parts I suggested. Get those.

You still haven't told us what programs you'll be using though, so we can't know whether you should go with Ryzen 5 or i5.

I've assumed you'll be using Adobe programs since you never answered. Adobe programs like a mix of cores and high single core performance, so the 6 core i5 is a great option for that, and the GPU won't make much difference so a 1050Ti is plenty. Just grab the cheapest 1050Ti that you like the look of, don't pay too much for one though.

However, if you're using a different program, different hardware might make more sense. Regardless, don't get the 7700k.

As for case, I already recommended one. The Meshify C.
