With the removal of access to saves stored on the cloud is there any way to access the locally cached copies of an xbox gamesave. I play offline frequently so I know a copy of the save is stored on the local drive. Removal of the drive and attaching to my Windows 10 PC allows my to browse all the drive partitions after altering the MBR , but I don't know where the local copies of the gamesave are stored. I'd like to be able to extract the save, edit it in a he editor, and the resign/inject it back into the drive. Not sure if this is possible.

Not exactly the answer I was hoping for. I'd be a lot more comfortable dumping a save directly off the local hard drive, even if that means disassembling my xbox to get the drive out of it temporarily. However, that info does interest me in that it would be an alternative to pulling the drive out if you can get the application to logon and load your saves. Sadly, I only found Vantage a few days before the latest release and never got my cloud saves to show up when testing. It just kept saying No Saves.
Out of curiousity, even if I did locate the save file on the local hard drive is there any type of encryption/resigning that would need to occur? I remember on the 360 after hex editing a save I would need to rehash/resign the save before uploading to my console.

I'm not Sure, I think like the xbox 360, the One might need some Hard Drive partition reader also but don't think any are available but they is for 360 if that could be used.
I try formatting a 128GB USB Drive yesterday, All i got was videos/music on the xbox one, No games are saves transfer's sadly, Maybe it might for a harddrive, Maybe take out a old 360 one from its case as it has a cable and just a mini Sata drive with xbox 360 data formatted on it.
--------
The tool used for 360 was called Horizon, It may on anti virus programs have little false positive.

I would love to see the Vantage tool re-fixed with Xbox Saves, And not PC only now.
The no saves with Vanage is just a random issue, If you keep trying login in out / refreshing, you will get through, also tip make the game you play a lot be first on Vantage list, If ie its listed as a first game more likey the saves will show up there, and not the next game on the list.
But not likely to be now, And Vantage guy Removed this function for xbox one, And made it PC only, down to people selling game saves / editors est, rather then sharing, real shame but hope he comes too and adds it back into vantage tool.

That is the software I used to access the xbox one hard drive via my PC. All partitions where viewable, but I couldn't find anything that stood out as a save file. I'm now wondering if the saves are packaged with the game itself by the OS. It's my understanding that patches to a game are applied/stored in the same file as the game, so maybe saves work the same way. In that case, what we see is actually a container file and not just the game but the patches and saves as well. When I get a chance I will compare a fresh installed game with the same file after a save is done to see if the file size changes.

Ok, I see, All I know is be four the function in Vantage was Removed, My Save's files for dump't with Storage Explorer in cloud for FFXV was anywhere under 4 MB Depending in the Chapter is was on in game.
It could be in the game, are hidden in some sort of way, The saves in cloud for this game was just called "data" and i could edit the hex values for cheats, once reuploaded to the cloud in vantage and re-sync on xbox one.
I dount think one needs to open there xbox, Nore I would at a £299.99 Minecraft Limited Edition One, just a nornal maybe 500GB sata HDD and maybe one of these.

Jhon an external drive for games needs to be at least 256GB that's why you were getting videos and music
