Hey guys :3

So I was thinking about getting a new PC for my birthday, but first I wanted to see if I could get my old one to perform better.

So the one I have now have a crappy 256MB of RAM and a AMD Athlon XP processor and it is currently running Windows XP SP3(Service Pack 3). My question is; can I replace the processor with a faster one and install 2GBs of RAM and it will run a hell of lot faster? Or is the computer doomed? It is a good 5 - 6 years old.

If not, I was thinking about getting this PC: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . If you find a better one, within a price range of 200 - 300, please can you post below. All I need it to do is run applications and not become un-responsive everytime.
And maybe play Minecraft

Thanks!
