I have gone to the control panel and then to the Network and internet and still nothing I just can't seem to find a way to scan or detect wireless routers like I can on my ipod.

Yes I know that but it's less of a hassle wireless than it is to be connected with the Ethernet cable.

First off, go to Start> Control Panel> Network> Network Sharing Center> Manage adapter settings
Do this to see if your Network Interface Card is even on. It's seems like it's turned off.
If it is turned off, turning it on should fix your problem. If not post saying so.
