You don't.

Updating your JTAG via MS's dash update and...BOOM...bye-bye JTAG. So in short...don't update via XBL.

People are using mods in COD4, WAW because of infections. Many tutorials on this site on how to do so, so I won't go into detail. Basically system linking your JTAG to a legit retail Xbox.

Will this get you banned? It could. If you abuse infections, spam messages to recent players, and jump into a game w/ an XBL PET member, there's a good chance you'll get whacked. Anytime you take modifications to XBL you run a risk of a ban. Black Ops is the exception as to where you WILL get banned, no ifs ands or buts. MW2 is patched ATM, so most infections aren't possible with the exception of a few.

Hope that helps...check out the JTAG Game Modding section on some more in depth tutorials on how to host/use infections and or system link lobbies.

There are other things a JTAG can do. Emulators, Linux, installing/running games directly off the HDD, Xlink Kai, etc. etc. If you got a JTAG just to host COD lobbies...you'll get bored of it VERY quickly. Check out this thread for some more basic info
