I'd have to say San Andreas, for a number of reasons, the most important being that this was the first Rockstar Games Project that truely revolutionized the GTA Brand, they released things such as fence climbing, Car customization and of course what every GTA fan was looking for, The Ability to swim. It was also the first game where you could actually fly something other then a Helicopter for an extended Period of time, as the Dodo had a maximum flight time of 14 seconds. Rockstar games also made the game a little more fun to those not so Mission Oriented players by releasing the Parachute into gameplay, which was extraordinarily fun! Though many of those features were taken out in GTA IV a lot of the Driving bugs were fixed, and they finally released a game in which the hands and fingers were stuck together.

Seems like san andreas is the most liked.

but i liked vice city alot

Mine would be San Andres without a doubt.

san andreas for sure, way more freedom and cheats, plus you HAD to eat and could get buff

san andreas all the way i tryed modding it for years but failed but i have a jtag now so i mod alot better now

San andreas is my favourite GTA
