want to buy an raid controller but I have no idea which are good or bad? So any help would be good.

A RAID controller is pretty pointless to buy for the average user.
You'll most likely only use RAID 0 and 1 ( which can be handled by your motherboard )
If however you want an HDD that contains very important data ( which you cannot afford losing ) you'll want something like RAID 5 ( which will "need" a RAID controller )
