I don't listen to 98% of the bands listed but I didn't say they are crap or aren't true metal I just posted about the ones I liked and kept my opinion of the rest to myself.

I really don't see what exactly the problem is with people trashing bands...

Granted, name calling is obviously not okay, but wanting to stop debate at all is kind of backwards. This is a metal thread; the people that have been arguing the validity of this thread have been contributing good music. If I liked the bands that these people were calling garbage, I'd probably consider their opinion and listen to the bands that they like. Hell, if people have the audacity to call something garbage, they usually know at least a little about what they're talking about.

I used to love BFMV, but eventually I came across someone calling them garbage and they suggested Opeth. You know what I realized? BFMV isn't nearly as technically magnificent, and that got me more interested in finding more great stuff. If you're so thin-skinned that you can't get over the fact that someone thinks a band you like isn't that great, that's your issue, but if it's hindering people that like fantastic metal from posting, we all lose.

Wow took the admins long enough but to little to late. If you actually read the comments from the beginning I was trying to keep it from blowing up and u guys just took ur sweet time on doing something about. well thats all i have to say about it now im going to go back to what i was doing and adding more music for the community

Well sorry but the truth hurts. All of my time doing this was for the community and that some one can just come along and screw it up is bs. Me and a few other people were just trying to get the other guy to accept the fact that metal core is no less metal then any other sub-gene of metal. I was issued a warning for what trying to get the guys to stop spamming my thread wow my bad didn't realize that was a crime. I'm not trying to b a dick but its the truth and I find it really crap that the admin just now find the time to step in.

If you wanted to help the thread, you'd allow people that know their stuff to educate others. They wouldn't have replied with hostility if you weren't so defensive in the first place.

Agreed but ones mans opinion doesn't make it fact and thats why I defended my topic and I wasn't the only person telling him the say stuff I was. So leaving it at that did you want me to add that band to the list?

Dude, you have no reason to protect your topic, everyone is entitled to post their opinions, and as ishcabible stated, you really should consider their opinions and listen to what they suggest. I was a little brutish with my last comment, but you should understand where I am coming from.

As stated before, many people of the metal community don't respect the genres like metalcore, in my opinion I disrespect them because they are all melodramatic sounding, and look like posers, who write a load of garbage lyrics with the instrumental content occasionally being okay on some points, but nonetheless that is my own personal opinion and at the end of the day, others will share the same opinion, some will disagree, and some will understand the direction of the opinion, and not jump straight to the conclusion that I am hating on the the band.

To be fair, I could even list some bad things about my favourite bands, like Opeth and Amon Amarth, but those seem more like minor discrepancies to me, with things like metalcore appearing more obvious to my eyes.
