Another case of growing skills ruined by the inability to be open to people's thoughts.
Congratulations on falling in the category of immature designers because you are arguing about something that is completely trivial. Who gives a damn if Xelev's bg is being used or not, he got noticed by him didn't he? Leave it be and stop trying to belittle other artist's work because of the insecurity you have with feedback.
And on topic (and yes I would put it more kindly if I had not read through the comments and seen the level of your maturity, so I'll put it bluntly), cinema 4d text with a cell render on it is hardly a logo. In literal definitions, it falls under typography but NO ONE would use a style such as that in a business standpoint. When you start selling art and appealing to your clients, that is when you realize what is and what isn't.
