Look at my post

Open up your xbox 360. Have everything down to the bare motherboard.

You Will Need:
-To open your xbox
-Toothpic or Wirebrush (no joke)
-Thermal Paste or Artic 5 Silver Compound
-A RRoD xbox lol

1)You will need to remove the x clamps and carefully take out both the gpu and CPU.

2)Take a toothpic or wire brush and very carefully scrub or pic away the gray rubbery goop on the CPU and gpu chips.

3)Take some artic 5 thermal compound or a computer based thermal paste, and reapply on top of the gpu and cpu. Use a toothpic to do so.

4) Next put the gpu and CPU things back in, screw back in and put on x clamps if u can.

5)Put your xbox back together, but leave one half of the case off, so u cAn do the next step.

6)Plug in your 360. It should still be red ringed. Unplug the fan from the xbox and turn on the xbox. Let ur xbox sit, while on for about 20 minutes, or untill the three rings turn into 2.

7)Once they are 2 flashing lights, remove the power cord from the back of the xbox. Let the xbox cool off, as it was just overheated. Turn it back on and bam! No more red ring of death baby.

How'd u fix the rrod? My tut?
And E79 - This error occurs when your harddrive is defective, it might still work sometimes....
There is also a small chance that it is a cold joint under the Southbridge causing problems with the I/O of the HDD. It can also be related to wiring the diodes while JTAGGING.

Yeah, that's what I'm guessing, loose wiring. I'm just gonna take a look at it later this week. Too much stuff going on to be messing with a jtag this week
