Firstly, I am from the UK. The only reasons that I can think of for someone to come to the UK would be to go to universities(Not as a holiday but for education), look at english heritage (Museums and castles...), meet friends/family, shopping in London or you have traveled to many other places and can't think of anywhere else to go, but from one of your earlier comments it looks as if you want excitement so go to USA as it's just bigger and has a lot more to offer, UK has Alton towers and Chestingtons world of adventure which are good but not worth traveling half way around the world for

I live in the US and have been to the UK. I think that UK would be better only because the US is huge and expensive to see all the good stuff. And UK is relatively small compared to the US.

Nothing against the US I live here lol.

I think both of them are good, but if I need to make a decision, I would go to amercia because the weather better. The weather in europe sucks a little bit.

Seeing as I don't live in either country, and I've visited both, it all depends on the city/state. For example, if you're just travelling; then:

New York City-> California-> London-> Florida-> Chicago

The UK has worse weather in general, and to be honest, London is quite cramped. New York is cramped too, but New York is more exciting than London IMO. The weather is worse in London. Anything that is in the Northern US is not worth travelling to unless you go in the summer, unless you like the cold. If you want to go to UK or the US now, I'd suggest going to California or Florida, but if you are waiting until the summer (which is winter for you Australians), I'd suggest New York.

The problem with the UK is that London is the only worthwhile place to visit for a tourist, and it's great, but the weather isn't the best, and I've honestly seen better American tourist destinations. Going to the US as a tourist destination doesn't mean you have to go everywhere within the US, but the US gives you that option to go to more than one city. In California, you have Los Angeles, San Fransisco, San Diego, and the infamous Las Vegas. Around New York, there's Boston, Washington D.C, New Jersey, and only a few hours away, Toronto. There's a lot more options within the US that makes it an overall better tourist destination.
