This is a very interesting topic. I have always woken up when I've been falling or somewhat of an equivalent to that. I believe if you have a weak heart you could die of shock.

I always wake up during mid fall, a few weeks ago i dreamt that i fell off a very tall building after being chased, but i woke up in mid fall, when i woke up my heart was pounding, but i also think your brain could shut down your organs because the dream feels so real and the brain thinks you're dead.

I like your way of thinking it's really deep . You could be right, your brain, when your trying to relax, releases a hormone which triggers relaxation. The fact that you get shocked by waking up due to a huge fright, is why I think you could die of shock.

Precisley, your brain is going from one extreme to another, very relaxed to shock and stress.

your body possibly cannot handle the sudden shock of death while relaxed, so people with a bad heart can often die.
People's mind can often deceive themselves, so if they are dreaming they are falling they dont wake up. They can hit the floor and wake up almost instantly.
T.B.H. I almost died in my sleep. Not funny either. Then again though, when I fell, I saw the floor and woke up, sweating and quick breathing. I couldnt sleep then for the rest of the night (for some reason, that happens VERY often)

Have you ever died in one of your dreams whilst falling? because as i'm about to hit the floor i wake up, i've never died in a dream...

Good question. Would this have anything to do with Lucid Dreaming?

It's interesting that you normally wake up before you die in a dream.
Unless you have heart issues, I don't think you'll die from dying in a dream.
